This tea pot is an old Kutani copy.

The color scheme of yellow and green, symbolic of Kutani, is very modern. The rounded form looks like a fruit orange and is very pretty.

It is a Kutani Seiho (back seal) piece. It is old, but has been stored unused. It is thought to be relatively recent, around the Showa period. There is a faint stain on the bottom back.

There is a matching teacup and teacup, but this teapot has a very strong presence by itself, so it would be nice to use it with white porcelain western teacups as an accent on your table.
