This is a Kutani young artist, Kotei Miura's ball Sake cup.

It is a very beautiful piece, with a pattern drawn with very delicate lines all over the surface, lovely pictures on the inside of the bowl and lid, and gold accents that add glamor to the piece.

It comes with a box with the artist's seal and the artist's ceramic history.

The "spherical sake cup" is a very interesting shape if you know how to use it.

As you can see in the photo, the lid is used as a sake cup, but because the bottom is spherical, you have to drink it all at once before you can put it down. This is said to be an interesting custom for socializing and communicating with people in the olden days. The appearance of the two vessels when placed on the body after drinking is also beautiful and interesting.

Size: 5 cm (diameter) x 5.5 cm (height) (including the lid when placed in a spherical shape)

Weight; 70g (body only)

It is second hand rather than vintage. This is a chance to get it at a reasonable price, as it was given to us almost unused.
